Investigative Services

We provide the following services on site at Burwood:

ECG

This test allows us to map the electrical conduction through the heart via the application of electrodes to the chest wall. 

Echocardiography

Using the latest ultrasound equipment, we can visualise your heart directly.  This test gives us a great deal of information into you heart structure, function, valve function, major vessels and the lining of the heart.

Stress Test/Stress Echocardiography

With our state of the art treadmill stress testing system, we can examine the heart under stress, and can assess what happens to the heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, and heart muscle function.  The addition of echocardiography greatly increases the accuracy of the test.

Ambulatory Blood Pressure

This 24hr device is applied in the practise, and allows you to go home, carry on your usual activities, while accurate readings of your blood pressure, and its variation throughout the day are all recorded.  This is a vital tool in ruling out secondary hypertension and white coat syndrome.

24hr Holter Monitor

This is important for investigating palpitations.  Similar to an ECG, the holter monitor examines the electrical activity through your heart using electrodes on the chest.  A small pocket size device attached to leads allows you to carry about your usual activities at home.
