Dr Shruti Kapila

Consultant Cardiologist and Imaging Specialist

 

In 2003, Dr Kapila graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Science (Medicine).

She underwent Physicians training at Concord Hospital, and Cardiology Advanced training at Liverpool Hospital completing her Cardiology training with a Fellowship in Echocardiography at St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst.

She undertook Cardiac CT training under Professor Stephan Achenbach, in Erlangen, Germany.

Her interests include diagnostic cardiology with a focus on non-invasive imaging, primary prevention of cardiovascular disease, and management of cardiovascular disease in women She is passionate about medical education, graduating from a Masters in Clinical Education from Flinders University in 2012. She speaks English and fluent Hindi.

Dr V. Manomohan

Consultant Cardiologist

Dr V. Manomohan brings with him over 40 years of experience as a medical professional and specialist cardiologist.  His compassionate and thorough approach to clinical care he provide has had his patients follow him from his practises in Merrylands, to Blacktown and now to our rooms at Burwood.

Dr Sujita Thavapalachandran

Interventional and Consultant Cardiologist


Dr Sujitha Thavapalachandran is an interventional cardiologist who specialises in coronary angioplasty and stenting. She is also a general cardiologist with a special interest in cardiac risk reduction and heart failure.

She graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2008 and completed specialist cardiologist training at Westmead Hospital in 2015. She then embarked on a PhD at Westmead Hospital and University of Sydney, investigating new ways of repairing damaged hearts after a heart attack. She undertook an interventional cardiology fellowship at the Peter Munk Cardiac Care Centre at Toronto General Hospital in 2020-21.

She has authored 17 publications and won 19 research awards including the Ralph Reader Prize for Basic Science 2018 (one of the most prestigious awards in cardiovascular research in Australasia). 

Dr Kishor Kadappu

Consultant and Interventional cardiologist

Dr Kadappu completed his MBBS from Calicut University and obtained MD from Agra University, India with a gold medal.  He became a member of Royal College of Physicians, London in 2005.


He completed his Cardiology in training at Liverpool Hospital and awarded FRACP from Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2008.  He worked as Cardiology Fellow at Liverpool Hospital and trained in Interventional Cardiology as well as cardiac imaging.  He has Specialist A accreditation in CT coronary angiogram by Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in CTCA.


Dr Kadappu is a recipient of the prestigious NHMRC scholarship and submitted his PhD in cardiovascular disease in chronic kidney disease at the University of New South Wales.  He has keen interest in research and published number of papers in peer reviewed journals both nationally and internationally. He is also co-chair of preventative cardiology section of Sydney cardiovascular clinical academic group.


He is working as a consultant and interventional cardiologist at Campbelltown and Liverpool hospitals and senior lecturer at the University of Western Sydney.
